A10-OLinuXino-LIME OSHW LInux computer developer edition is in stock

Image

A10-OLinuXino-LIME 50 pcs developer edition are in stock! The mass production 2000 pcs are to follow in 2 weeks.

What we have done:

  • tested the hardware
  • built Android and Debian images with all board features
  • tested differnt LCDs, SATA HDDs, LiPo batteries

it’s a bit scary but everything works from the very first revision which didnt happen to any other OLinuXino and make us feel a bit uncomfortable.

The mass production is ran without any changes in the schematic and board🙂

Hopefully the developer testing will find no bugs !

Just a theoretical question. If LIME becomes a huge success and the manufacturing ramps up to a really high volume, would there be a room for price reduction (more like adjusting it, so that it is not only comparable, but clearly lower cost than Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone Black)?

sure, all our calculations are made for 5K per month sales (around 50K per year), if LIME start selling at 20-30K per month the price could be optimized more

This is the perfect hardware for a Coworking Box (etherpad and the likes without internet access). I’ve put rough instructions how to make one on http://cowobox.net .

What is the temperature range? Why is not supported extended temperature range at least -20 to +80C?
Anyway good job, but not for outdoor…

There is not enough space around hole near flash for screwdriver (screwdriver from lime box). Change of board should be considered.

We also noticed it, you are correct. Place paper or plastic for now to keep it from touching the flash. You might try operating with only the other screw. Alternatively, I’ve seen plastic screws.

We will decide which is the best way to resolve the problem for future revisions – if it is possible we would move the flash memory towards the other screwhole.

Any news on when Android image will be published? I realise you’ve been prioritising Debian.
