## Problem:

Cyclic Redundancy Check is error detecting  code used in serial devices to detect accidental errors in the input data.

Make code which calculates CRC-16.

## The rules:

You can code the solution in any programming language during the weekend and have to submit it to info@olimex.com latest on Sunday January 12th.

On Monday we will upload the solutions on GitHub https://github.com/OLIMEX/WPC

You can play with your real name or with nick if you want to be anonymous, we will not disclosure your personal info if you do not want to.

1. Hello, I ve just spent 4 hours on coding an “unwrap” version for adruino/avr and after some testing I realized that the _crc16_update which is in util/crc16.h is extremly well optimized, I m afraid they cant be other winners, I let it to you guys!

2. just for the fun here it is, no shit, no loop, with polynome A001 like for modbus
uint16_t crc16optimized(uint16_t crc,uint8_t x){
uint8_t hi,v;
x ^= (crc & 0xff);
hi=crc >>8;
if (x & 1) {hi^=0x40; x^=0x02; }
if (x & 2) {hi^=0x80; x^=0x04;}
if (x & 4) {x^=0x09;}
if (x & 8) {x^=0x12;}
if (x & 16) {x^=0x24;}
if (x & 32) {x^=0x48;}
if (x & 64) {x^=0x90;}
if (x & 128) {hi^=0x01; x^=0x20; }
return ((x <<8)|(hi));}
