New Products in stock: Open Source Hardware Breadboard DC-DC Power supply

We have three new boards designed with KiCAD:

BB-PWR-8009 is with input from 3 to 5.5V DC and convert it to 3.3V / 1.5A

BB-PWR-8113 is with input from 4.5 to 16V DC and convert it to 3.3V / 3A

BB-PWR-3608 is with input 5V and convert it to 12V or 24V /1A

All three boards have efficiency more than 90% and work from -40+85C, they snap to Breadboard power rails and are easy to integrate.

Meet the iMX233-OLinuXino new member: Nano

Fresh out of the reflow oven: iMX233-OLinuXino-NANO is the smallest iMX233 board we have.

We try to shrink it to the max and the size now is just 76 x 20 mm (3 x 0.8″).

The board features are:

  • imx233 at 454Mhz
  • 64MB RAM
  • micro SD-card
  • USB host
  • LiPo charger
  • UEXT connector

When we designed this board we had two goals:

  • to make it breadboard friendly and we did this with 0.7″ between the header pins on the two edges, so you can easily plug it to BREADBOARD-1
  • to enable creation of handheld devices with it, the board have LiPo charger and step-up converter which allow USB devices to work even when the board is LiPo battery powered, so you can make Handheld WIFI deveices with this board running Linux and with all GPIOs available in two row headers

It’s pity as we try hard but couldn’t shrink NANO to DIP 0.6″ width but we got close to it 🙂

Now we have to do some serious testings and if everything goes well will run production by end of July. The price will be similar to iMX233-OLinuXino-MICRO.

iMX233-OLinuXino-NANO was designed in 6 layer with proper care taken for noise immunity.

MSP430-T5510 breadboard friendly T-shaped board

MSP430-T5510 is EUR 12.95 T-shaped breadboard friendly board based on Ken Segler idea we used also in AVR-T32U.

The board is in stock and you can use lot of different IDEs to program it including the new ARDUINO like IDE Energia https://github.com/energia/Energia

DuinoMite new boards: T-shaped breadboard adapter, Wii-nunchuk to UEXT and ICSP adapters

Ken Segler again had nice idea for T-shaped breadboard adapter which brings all DuinoMite GPIOs in easy to access form to breadboard + adds +5V/GND bus on top and +3.3V/GND bus on bottom of the breadboard – small and elegant solution for all who want to experiment with DuinoMite / MaxiMite.

This is our first prototype, we will have stock of this board around end of February.

For all retro computer Game lovers there is good news, now there is easy way to connect Wii-nunchuk to DuinoMite! For this purposes two adapters were built:

one is with UEXT connector so connects directly to the DuinoMite UEXT connector, the other is with PIC-ICSP connector layout and could be wired with 6 pin ICSP cable to DuinoMite PIC programming ICSP connector – as DuinoMite uses bootloader for new firmware upgrades the ICSP connector is used just once when the bootloader is programmed then stays with no use, so interfacing the Wii-nunchuk is good use for the ICSP.

Wii-nunchuk offers: X-Y Joystick and 3-Axes accelerometer + 2 Buttons and works with I2C.

In this thread on TBS forum you can download ready to use Wii-nunchuk BASIC code which is tested to work just fine with the UEXT connector, to work with ICSP connector new soft-emulated I2C communication should be implemented in the firmware.
