STMP157-SOM-EXT, STMP157-SOM-IND and STMP1(A13)-SOM-EVB are in stock!

Now our first STMP1 boards can be ordered on our web:

STMP1(A13)-SOM-EVB evaluation board (requires separate SOM)

STMP157-SOM-EXT extended temperature range -20+85C running on 800Mhz

STMP157-SOM-IND industrial temperature range -40+85C running on 650Mhz

STMP157-SOM-512-IND industrial grade system on module status update April 2021

STMP157-SOM-512 is functional drop in replacement for A13-SOM-512 and have exactly the same features, but is industrial grade -40+85C.

All connectors have same signals on the both boards:

For STMP157-SOM-512 we made special STMP1(A13)-SOM-EVB:

With this board all SOM features can be explored:

  • two USB High Speed Hosts
  • one USB-OTG
  • WiFi/BT module with PCB antenna and option for external antenna
  • 100MB Ethernet
  • Flash connector for attaching SPI, NAND, eMMC Flash modules
  • Audio input, output
  • UEXT connector
  • LCD connector for LCD-OLinuXino-XX
  • GPIO connector

Needless to say the EVB works with A13-SOM-512 also.

Mainline uboot and Linux Kernal 5.12 with support for all peripherals is available.

STMP157-SOM-512 and STMP1(A13)SOM-EVB boards are now in production and will be on the web for sale by the end of April.

A20-SOM204 and SOM204-EVB preliminary info is uploaded on our web

A20-SOM204-T

SOM204 is SODIMM form factor System-On-Module we are working for a while (actually from so long time ago that SOM204-EVB platform is made in Eagle which we dropped to use officially from quite some time ago).

The SODIMM connector has these signals:

  • Power supply: +5V, GND, LiPobattery, RTC_backup, Stepup-Output, Stepup-enable, USB+5V
  • Interfaces: Gigabit Ethernet, Megabit Ethernet, CAN, SATA, PCIe, USB2.0 HOST x2, USB-OTG, USB3.0 HOST, HSIC, UARTx3, SPIx2, I2Cx2, CSI, microSD, GPIOs with interrupts,
  • Display: HDMI, VGA
  • Audio: SPDIF, Line-in/out, Microphone, Headphone.

You can see complete SOM204 platform signals here.

The idea behind SOM204 is to make Universal interchangeable SOM with different performance and resources.

Our first SOM204 module is with A20 processor, it’s now in production and will be available for purchase next week.

The second SOM204 module is with A64, the third is with RK3328 which we expect to be ready for production around June. Next to follow is AM335X which will be ready by end of the year together with RK3399. The goal is to have 5 different modules by the end of the year.

A20-SOM204 comes with 1GB RAM, optional SPI Flash or eMMC Flash up to 64GB, two native Ethernets (this is the only A20 board with dual native Ethernets) Gigabit and Megabit, SATA and so on. The USB3.0 interface and PICe interfaces are not wired. On top on SOM204 platform LCD and additional GPIOs are exposed on FPC connectors:

The A20-SOM204 schematic is here.

A20-SOM204-EVB is evaluatuon board with A20-SOM204SOM204-EVB2

A20-SOM204 software is Armbian with mainline kernel and support for all SOM peripherials.

New Sitara AM3352-SOM-IND with industrial grade components work from -40C up to +85C

AM3352-SOM-1

Our popular AM3352-SOM module now is available in industrial temperature grade -40+85C under name AM3352-SOM-IND.

MT41K256M16HA-125IT:E memory used is with -40+95C operating temperature.

AM3352BZCZA100 processor used from Texas Instruments  is with -40+105C operating temperature.

AM3352-SOM-IND module can be evaluated with AM3352-SOM-EVB.

Debian Linux distribution is officially distributed, but recent patch add support for AM3352-SOM in Beaglebone kernel

A20-OLinuXino-MICRO project – How to set up a raid 1 filesystem

A20-OLinuXino-MICRO-0

Flayol Frédéric submitted on our project page link to his interesting project, he setup Raid 1 file system with two USB Flash drives.

There are also many other interesting projects on his blog!

New Product: Electromagnetic Door-Lock

doorlock

DOOR-LOCK is electromagnetic door lock. It operates with 12V DC, when power is applied the door lock pin is moving inside housing, when power is released the pin is moving out by spring.

With SNS-FINGERPRINT and DOOR-LOCK you can make complete access system with logging with platform of your choice – ESP8266, Arduino or OLinuXino.

RK3188-SOM Quad Core Cortex-A9 running at 1.6GHz System On Module first prototypes work fine

Image

May is the month of our System On Modules 🙂

Image

Today our next SOM with RK3188 successfully was tested and OK.

This one is little beast comparing to A20 it have 4x Cortex-A9 vs 2x Cortex-A7 and runs on 1.6GHz vs. 1GHz so RK3188 makes total 16000 DMPIS vs. 3800 DMIPS for A20 (4.2 times faster) and vs. 965 DMIPS for RaspberryPi (16.6 times faster).

On the SOM there is:

  • RK3188 running at 1.6Ghz
  • 1GB DDR3 memory
  • Power Managment Unit IC
  • optional 4GB NAND Flash
  • micro SD-card to boot Llinux or Android
  • two buttons
  • three status LEDs
  • debug UART console
  • 5 GPIO connectors 2×20 pins 0.05″ step

RK3188-SOM and RK3188-SOM-4GB will be available for sale in June. The price of RK3188-SOM will be EUR 40 / 1000 pcs, the price of RK3188-SOM-4GB will be EUR 45 / 1000 pcs

RK3188-SOM-EVB is also available with Eagle CAD files, so any one can tailor board to his needs:

Image

The RK3188-SOM-EVB reference design have:

  • RK3188-SOM-4GB module
  • 4x USB Hosts
  • 1x USB OTG
  • HDMI output
  • 100MB Ethernet
  • RTC with backup battery
  • LCD connector compatible with A13-LCDxx A10-LCDxx, A20-LCDxx displays we have
  • 2x UEXT connectors
  • 2x 40 pin GPIO connectors

RK3188-SOM-EVB will be available for sale in June too and the price is EUR 85.00

Android and Debian Linux will be provided.
