If there are two filtering capacitors – one with bigger and one with smaller value. The capacitor with the smaller value will filter higher frequencies and this is why it should be placed closer to the chip pins to have shorter traces, the bigger value capacitor filters lower frequency noise and can be placed next to the smaller value capacitor.

What I really like about your quiz: there is some real reward coming with it. And it is even better than any device, etc. It allows ones to improve their engineering skills and learn new things, some of which could be not so obvious. And somehow it helps others to understand how it works and why it happens this way. This is clearly best reward one can get :).
