LibreELEC is small OS which has everything to run KODI on top of it. Thanks to Dimitar Gamishev and Stefan Saraev now A20 and A64 OLinuXino has support for it.
A20 has one annoying problem there is no HDMI audio as listed in Linux-Sunxi mainlining efforts.
If someone is capable to do this and have time to spend would be great, as it seems nobody cares to use A20 as media player 🙂
On A64 everything works and HDMI has audio as well.
so KODI is running full featured:
Both A20 and A64 decode up to 4K movies but of course can’t display such resolutions.
Build scripts are on GitHub. Images will be add to our FTP.

Did you ask jernej, I’m pretty sure there is a patch floating around for most open points in the matrix.

Can you produce an image for Allwinner A10?
Nov 29, 2019 @ 13:29:22
I’m afraid this would require too much efforts and this will be wasted time as A10 is obsolete SOC and doubtfully good choice for media player. I bet Bootlin would be happy to add support for A10 if you cover their expenses.

Who talkshow about expenses? The A20 (has an image) is just as obsolete as the A10.
The Bootlincom dev Team made the VPU driver for free. So it’s just a matter of providing an image with the VPU driver integratie. Everything else is mainlined.

The “VPU driver” was “crowdfunded” 30 000 EUR. Olimex contributed 1 000 EUR and boards for its development.
You see the public github repo link at the end ? If it is so easy for you just make a pull request with A10 OLinuXino support I’m sure Olimex will be happy to accept it and host the image.

Yeah I forget about the 30K. Sorry. But for that amount of money you hope that the driver is used for all platforms. And not only A64 and A20. I cannot develop code unfortunately.

Happy to see people working on it.
I’m looking forward to be able to use it as media center.
Thanks for your work
